Introduction to Floaters

Band The Floaters was formed in 1976, by singer James Mitchell and his brother Paul Mitchell with three others. It was an African-American R&B vocal group from Detroit Michigan James Mitchells was the former Detroit Emeralds. Most of the members of this group came from the Sojourner Truth Housing Project.

In 1977 their song “Float On” was a world hit in the the music industry and reached at No 1 on UK Singles Chart and No 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also on No 5 on the Irish Singles Chart.
